Job Description

MS Companies is seeking an Industrial Controls Engineer for a high voltage, heavy manufacturing environment in Carrollton, GA, with a salary of USD 110,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults in PLC-based machine control systems
  • Create and adjust PLC and HMI programs to boost efficiency, reliability, and product quality
  • Own the full electrical control system design lifecycle, including panel layout, field wiring, and schematics
  • Contribute to commissioning activities and upgrades of new or existing automation systems
  • Recommend and implement improvements to maximize production uptime, safety, and quality
  • Collaborate with operators, maintenance technicians, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a controls, power, or automation focus
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Automation Engineer in a manufacturing setting
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with PLC-based machine control systems
  • Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting proficiency
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience, including creation of electrical schematics and control drawings
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, industrial power distribution, MCCs, and high-voltage systems
  • Experience working on the plant floor in live production environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in wire, cable, metals, continuous processes, or other heavy manufacturing environments
  • Experience with drives, motors, and industrial communication networks
  • Commissioning, startup, and system upgrade experience

Physical and Environment Requirements

  • Approximately 10% standing, 50% walking, and 25% sitting during typical work tasks
  • Lifting up to 15 lbs
  • Frequent work on the plant floor across multiple shifts
  • Office and manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise and temperature variations
  • Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs
