IT Support Engineer II
Job Description
Prime Electric is seeking an IT Support Engineer II to support the organization’s information technology function in Bellevue, WA. Working under general supervision, you will deliver second-tier helpdesk support, troubleshoot computer and network issues, and assist with IT project work as needed.
Role Summary
You will diagnose computer problems, monitor system performance, and support day-to-day technology operations. The position also includes escalated ticket resolution, workstation setup and deployment, and participation in on-call coverage for after-hours critical and emergency helpdesk support.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose computer issues, monitor processing systems, install hardware and software, and perform tests on equipment and programs
- Provide second-tier technical assistance for incoming queries involving computer systems, software, and hardware
- Contribute and/or lead IT projects as requested
- Participate in an On-Call rotation schedule for after-hour critical and emergency Helpdesk Support
- Respond to escalated questions and helpdesk tickets in person, by phone, or via email
- Install workstations and train end-users on computer use when needed
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
- Perform Quality Assurance / Quality Control prior to device deployment
- Assist with computer setup, configuration, and troubleshooting for remote jobsites and offices
- Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources
- Comply with internal policies, processes, and procedures
- Follow and enforce the PRIME Safety Program by learning and following safety regulations, procedures, and safe work practices
- Perform other duties as requested
Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of how software and operating systems work
- Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks within set deadlines
- Ability to think logically and analytically while maintaining customer focus under stressful situations
Work Setting and Physical Demands
- Work is primarily performed in an office setting with minimal health or safety hazards
- Noise level and temperature are moderate
- Minimal lifting or climbing
- Some travel may be required, including other offices, work sites, and local errands
- Requires operating office machines such as computers, copiers, scanners, and phones
