Java Software Engineer - Space Mission Applications - Level 3
Job Description
Lockheed Martin Corporation invites an experienced software professional to join an Agile team building space mission applications. This full-time role, based in Colorado Springs with remote capability, concentrates on Java and JavaScript development to support Space Domain Awareness, Space Battle Management Command/Control, Modeling/Simulation, Wargaming and Test/Training. Responsibilities
- Performance of all phases of software development (user interface and software services), including design, implementation, integration, testing and verification
- Developing services that solve optimization problems (dynamic programming, non-linear optimization, over-constrained planning, etc.)
- Dynamically optimizing terrestrial and space-based systems to support prioritized mission needs
- Collaborate in small, fast-paced agile teams focused on product delivery to program customers
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Java and/or JavaScript
- Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Experience with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, automated build and configuration tools (GitLab, ArgoCD)
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearances

Security and Clearance

Work Arrangement
This is a full-time remote telework role. The selected candidate may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Schedule
Work schedule for this position is 9x80, with every other Friday off.
Compensation and Location Notes
The annual base salary range is $107,300 to $185,840 in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts and New York. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the final work location. Specifically, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington and Washington DC have a different range of $93,200 to $164,450. Final compensation depends on location and experience.
