Junior Data Engineer

Mando Technologies is hiring a Junior Data Engineer in Plano, TX for an onsite role focused on building and improving data infrastructure. In this position, you will support the development and management of data platforms that enable analytics, operational reporting, and machine learning data preparation using cloud and big data tools.

This junior role emphasizes hands-on work across the data lifecycle, including modeling, ETL pipeline development, SQL database support, and contributions to data warehousing and ML-ready datasets. You will also work within Agile processes to deliver iterative improvements to data systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with designing and implementing data models and schemas for analytical and operational use cases
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using tools such as Talend or Informatica, or by using custom scripting with Python, Bash, or Shell Scripting
• Collaborate with teams to integrate linked data sources and ensure reliable data flow across platforms such as AWS, Azure Data Lake, and cloud databases
• Support SQL database management, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other SQL-based systems, to help maintain strong query performance
• Contribute to data warehousing solutions using dimensional modeling techniques for improved query management
• Help prepare datasets for machine learning model training by performing dataset preparation and analysis using the Spark or Hadoop ecosystems
• Participate in Agile development cycles to deliver incremental enhancements to data pipelines and infrastructure

Requirements

• dbt knowledge is a plus

Compensation: USD 30 - 35 per hour (hourly rate).
