The Lead Electrical Engineer role is an onsite position in Berkeley, CA focused on setting electrical technical direction and ensuring high-quality design outcomes. Salary Information
- Range: USD 120,000 - 140,000 per year

Role Summary
As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will own electrical technical direction and conduct design reviews for the electrical workstream. You will translate system requirements into electrical architecture, component selections, interfaces, and verification requirements. The role also includes coordination with cross-functional teams and review of nearshore deliverables to support release-quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical direction and perform design reviews for the electrical workstream.
- Translate system requirements into electrical architecture, component requirements, interface definitions, and verification requirements.
- Lead selection of lower-cost alternatives for switches, sensors, and electrical isolation components.
- Assess impacts to PCBA interfaces, controls, diagnostics, harnesses, BOMs, and overall system performance.
- Coordinate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, supply-chain, and validation teams to support delivery.
- Review nearshore deliverables and ensure release-quality documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of electrical or electromechanical product-development experience; battery, energy storage, industrial equipment, or automotive experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience demonstrated in: electrical architecture, sensors, harness interfaces, BOM optimization, and design reviews.
- Leadership: Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineers across locations.
Domain and Technical Skills
- Electrical architecture and component-level cost optimization for battery and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of sensors, switches, heaters, pumps, DC/DC converters, power distribution, and harness interface considerations.
- Ability to evaluate redundant devices, substitute components, determine interface impacts, and identify validation needs.
- Experience reviewing electrical designs and guiding distributed engineering teams.
