Job Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and troubleshoot innovative software solutions, moving beyond routine approaches to tackle complex problems.
- Identify opportunities to reduce toil and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Champion enterprise AI assisted engineering practices to raise code quality, accelerate delivery, and enhance operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and promoting reusable patterns across the team.
- Leverage the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-enabled development and automation, to maximize automation value.
- Make decisions shaping product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
- Influence peers and project stakeholders to consider and adopt leading edge technologies.
- Understand CI/CD needs of developers and lead communities of practice to promote awareness of new technologies.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review or debug code written by others.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and applicability within existing systems and information architecture.
- Contribute to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering, computer science, or computer engineering, with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience spanning system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java, C++, Python, Go, Kotlin, TypeScript, C#, etc.).
- Proven track record leading effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security requirements; experience coaching engineers on safe adoption.
- Experience with low latency, real-time, scalable trading systems and familiarity with algorithmic and systematic trading.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a global team across NA, EMEA, and APAC while contributing to the Equities technology organization.
- Solid grasp of best practices for building efficient software and awareness of guardrails and their importance.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with minimal oversight; hands-on FinOps experience.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity, and related workflows.
- Experience building or integrating high throughput messaging APIs and middleware.
