Job Description

Based in Salt Lake City, L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead RAMS Engineer to guide reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety analyses for mission-critical systems. This onsite role demands strong technical leadership, hands-on RAMS work on hardware and software, and the ability to mentor engineers across multiple advanced programs. A graduate degree and the capability to obtain a Secret security clearance are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive RAMS analyses for hardware and software, including Reliability and Maintainability Predictions, Reliability Modeling, Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analyses (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and a range of Safety Analyses and other RAMS-related activities.
  • Develop and present technical documentation and analysis results for internal and external customer reviews, ensuring alignment with military, government, and commercial handbooks and standards such as MIL-HDBK-217F, Telcordia SR-332, 217Plus, MIL-HDBK-470, MIL-STD-882, NFPA70, and NAS 411.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to support multiple concurrent engineering programs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced RAMS personnel.
  • Maintain excellent communication and presentation skills for the delivery of technical data.
  • The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree with minimum 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance is required.

  • Job Schedule: 9/80 schedule – work 9 out of 14 days totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Preference will be given to applicants with electrical engineering degrees.
  • Experience in RAMS, Human Factors Engineering, FRACAS, and Logistics Analysis including GEIA-STD-0007, plus defense industry experience.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Teamcenter, SAP, MS Office, SharePoint, Relyence, Catia Cameo, and Ansys Sherlock.
  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly in probability and statistics.
