Mechanical Engineer

Eagle Mine, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Mine and Mill site in Champion, Michigan. This role focuses on improving mechanical equipment reliability by partnering with maintenance and operations and delivering mechanical design work, calculations, drawings, and project support for maintenance and capital initiatives.

Role Overview

You will provide engineering assistance across mechanical maintenance and capital projects. Day-to-day work includes troubleshooting equipment issues, creating mechanical designs and specifications, and coordinating project activities tied to mechanical systems at the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with maintenance and operations to resolve equipment issues
• Develop work scopes and manage mechanical contractors
• Provide project management for mechanical maintenance and capital projects
• Perform mechanical calculations and design for new and existing equipment
• Create detailed mechanical drawings
• Approve mechanical and civil engineering prints
• Specify mechanical parts for process equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues
• Design piping specifications
• Update document control in SharePoint as systems are changed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Civil Engineering required
• Proficient in AutoCAD or other mechanical drafting software required

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees preferred
• 3-5 years in heavy industrial mechanical experience preferred
• Mining experience preferred
• Demonstrated Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred

Minimum Experience

• 3 years minimum experience
