Mechanical Engineer II - Test Equipment

Join Raytheon’s Test Equipment Directorate to help design and validate mechanical test systems that support production testing needs.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical test systems for production testing environments
• Cover test system areas including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical
• Integrate and validate test systems to meet accuracy and reliability requirements
• Evaluate production installations and recommend mechanical design modifications to eliminate malfunctions

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Education and/or experience with project work in one or more of the following:
  • Mechanical/electronic sub-systems packaging
  • Material selection
  • Thermal analysis
  • Structural analysis
  • Control systems
  • Electrical hardware design
  • Large assembly development

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of 1 internship in a related field
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric
• Experience creating design drawing packages
• Experience with Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design

Security Clearance

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship required (only U.S. citizens eligible for a security clearance)
• DoD clearance type: Secret
• Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date

Work Location

• Onsite in Tucson, AZ, United States of America
• Onsite roles work primarily onsite, including production and maintenance employees

Salary

• USD 68,900 - 131,100 per year
