Mid-Level Software Engineer
Job Description
Mid-Level Software Engineer (SEG2) to support a large Naval Sea Systems Command contract at Decision Technologies. This onsite role is based at the Washington Navy Yard, DC, with possible telework contingent on customer approval. The position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user needs and design software solutions, applying principles from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Update or enhance existing software capabilities to meet evolving requirements.
- Collaborate with other functional disciplines, including project management, acquisition, logistics, and security, to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and establish performance requirements.
- Maintain databases within the relevant application area.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of software engineering experience.

Travel Requirements
Travel should be infrequent but may include occasional trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval centers, including Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.

Compensation at Decision Technologies, Inc. is determined by location, the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
Experience
- 3 years of experience working on DoD or Navy related programs or contracts (Required)
- 3 years of experience with Surface Radars (Required)
- 3 years of experience with system integration efforts (Required)
- 3 years of experience with Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys, or Laser systems (Required)
Security Clearance
Secret clearance required.
