Product Design Engineer
Job Description
ITT Inc. is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer to help advance new product development in the connector industry. Based in Gilbert, AZ with an onsite work arrangement, this role supports product setup, component and assembly design, documentation and bill of materials work, and coordination across engineering and operational stakeholders.
The position offers USD 99,900 - 149,100 per year and is designed for engineers with 7+ years of electro-mechanical design experience who can manage multiple concurrent activities while partnering with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general engineering product setup, design, and management activities.
- Create, document, and maintain an engineering BOM, including documentation updates.
- Design new components and assemblies.
- Manage and plan multiple activities across Engineering, Product Management, and Operational support for new product development.
- Serve as a product engineering representative within a multi-functional team.
- Provide testing support and offer an overview within a Product Evaluation Lab.
- Work closely with Field Application Engineering.
- Maintain visibility requirements for export controlled documents and information.
Requirements
- Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product design for connectors or contacts.
- Experience with CREO Parametric for 3D modeling and documentation.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing, including GD&T.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong self-motivation with a willingness to make a difference.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with different departments.
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel and Word.

Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Experience with Filters, Fiber Optics, Micro-miniature, and/or High-Speed Data transfer (preferred).
- Knowledge of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums, and copper alloys, including manufacturing requirements to use them.
- Knowledge of MIL-DTL, Mil-STD, and related industry specifications.
- Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.
- Ability to travel periodically, up to 20%.
