Product Manager (Engineering Leader 1)
Job Description
M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager to lead the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) product effort. This onsite role in Tysons, VA focuses on delivering and managing the lifecycle of software that extends and integrates OT solutions with customer business systems across the Software Development Life Cycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through implementation.
- Capture, document, and communicate customer needs; translate requirements into features and user stories; support the technical team’s understanding of requirements.
- Define and prioritize product roadmaps to align with internal and external stakeholder needs across the organization and the customer set.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define product requirements and support timely product delivery.
- Manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and work with technical and project stakeholders to make trade-off decisions.
- Lead day-to-day software operations, managing productivity to help ensure release targets are consistently met through work assignment management, resource balancing, and resolution of blocking conditions.
- Create, manage, and maintain detailed system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task-oriented procedures, and operations and maintenance plans.
- Plan and conduct user testing (UAT).
- Establish KPIs, identify gaps, and improve product performance and adoption.
- Lead product demos, training sessions, and other stakeholder-facing activities.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required. Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation, and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED for access to classified information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Technical Discipline, plus 7+ years of progressive experience in product management and software delivery.
- SAFe® Scrum Master, SAFe® for Teams, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or similar agile project management certification.
- Proven record of successfully launching and managing complex software products.
- Strong understanding of application lifecycle management systems such as Atlassian Jira (and related components), Azure DevOps, GitLab, and similar tools to manage, monitor, and report on project status and performance.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services.
- Working understanding of network infrastructure concepts of operation and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog, and related technologies.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems, including Atlassian Jira.

Compensation
USD 125,120 - 156,400 per year.
