Boeing’s Product Security Engineering (PSE) organization is hiring a mid-level Product Security Engineer to support Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) on cybersecurity lifecycle teams in North Charleston, South Carolina. In this onsite role, you will help assess and strengthen product security across the lifecycle, including sustainment activities, while coordinating with certification and testing stakeholders.
Role overview
- Support security risk assessment and improvement for product assets and production systems.
- Contribute to the development of security requirements and supporting technical documentation.
- Coordinate validation activities with penetration testers and review certification artifacts with FAA and Engineering Unit Members.
- Drive sustainment and configuration management practices to maintain continued product security and resiliency for digitally-connected, in-service airplanes.
Responsibilities
- Assess risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of product assets and production systems in accordance with accepted industry, professional, and government standards to maintain security design integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop security requirements and coordinate with systems stakeholders.
- Create technical data and documentation aligned to requirements and system security engineering processes and procedures for internal reference and external delivery.
- Coordinate with penetration testers to validate coverage and impacts to analysis.
- Review developed certification artifacts with FAA and Engineering Unit Members.
- Develop technical solutions with awareness of the consequences of judgments both individually and across teams.
- Perform or lead the development, implementation, and communication of sustainment activities supporting continued product security, safety, and resiliency of digitally-connected, in-service airplanes.
- Oversee configuration management and security of data, networks, and resources used to sustain product security and resiliency of in-service models.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or related field), or equivalent non-US qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 5+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, or product security.
- Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comprehensive understanding of airplane systems and networks.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, and network design.
- Comprehensive understanding of DO-326B, DO-356A, and DO-355.
- Technical leadership with a positive and curious mindset.
- One or more security certifications, including but not limited to CISSP, Security+, CEH, CCNA, UNIX/LINUX System Administration, GIAC GPEN/GWAPT/GXPN, Offensive Security Certified Engineer (OSCE), or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).

- Salary range: USD 128,350 - 173,650 per year.
