Job Description

The Project Engineer at Schneider Electric serves as the technical focal point for a prefabricated modular datacenter initiative, coordinating and generating all technical documentation to satisfy customer requirements and project timelines while supporting factory teams through build, test, and closeout.

Salary

USD 68,000 - 102,000 per year

Education and Experience

B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (ABET accredited preferred); minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear understanding of design documents, specifications, references, and project scope.
  • Record minutes for all regular and technical design meetings.
  • Identify, review, collect, verify, and archive project technical documents as they become available.
  • Create approval drawings aligned with the customer scope.
  • Manage changes to design documents and customer submittals.
  • Plan and monitor engineering work schedules and assign tasks to designers and subject matter experts.
  • Track technical design deviations and alert the project and design teams for resolution.
  • Review and approve fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare a major bill of materials for the project.
  • Maintain and track design submittals, shop drawings, and the engineering hours budget.
  • Keep design documents current with all addenda and redlines.
  • Secure warranties and guarantees from subcontractors and vendors as defined in the design documents, specifications, and contract.
  • Oversee the handover of design packages to the factory for construction and perform QC during integration to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Ensure all design changes are redlined to support final as-built documentation.
  • Prepare final project documentation including as-built drawings, certificates, O&M documents, and spare parts lists.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
  • Knowledge of data center critical infrastructure (power, cooling, monitoring).
  • Experience with building or industrial installations (cabling, lighting, piping, plumbing).
  • At least 1 year of REVIT experience.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD 2D, and Bluebeam.
