Project Engineer I
Job Description
Janicki Industries seeks a Project Engineer I to oversee the full project lifecycle on-site at Hamilton and Sedro-Woolley, WA. The role covers requirements through design to manufacturing support, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and ongoing customer communications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and internal engineering teams to drive progress across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Engage in design and manufacturing support through clear communication, consultation, and active participation.
- Assist in developing and releasing project plans and in procuring supplies.
- Develop and execute both high level and detailed project plans, managing schedules and budgets.
- Work directly with the customer’s technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, and present project status or health to the customer as needed.
- Direct and participate in engineering activities, including design and drafting, engineering reviews, and work order preparation.
- Ensure materials are organized and ready for manufacturing, including carrying out purchasing activities.
- Interact frequently with the shop floor to monitor project health; may have daily presence on the shop floor.
- Comply with all quality requirements for projects.
- Manage project scope and conduct risk assessments.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance.
- There are multiple levels of competency for this role, determined by performance, certifications, and supervisor discretion.
Requirements
- Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, candidates must be a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a)(3).
- The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; Janicki will assist with access after employment. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory and require agreement to participate in a Continuous Evaluation program.

Additional Information
Salary for this role ranges from $83,000 to $100,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees may also receive additional pay for off shifts. The posted range represents Janicki’s base compensation estimate; actual offers are determined by factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities in a non-discriminatory process.
