Radio Frequency Engineer
Job Description
Role overview: RF/Microwave Engineer for onsite development and packaging of RF front-ends supporting transmit and receive systems.
- Design & simulation: Create and simulate RF/microwave antenna designs, including integration with LNAs/MPAs that can be cascaded within a compact module package for higher RF gain
- Millimeter-wave module layout: Produce design layouts for millimeter-wave up-conversion modules
- Integration & packaging: Integrate and package millimeter-wave up-conversion modules in coordination with team members
- Testing & diagnosis: Test, characterize, and troubleshoot operational issues across RF/microwave circuits
- System optimization: Work with teammates to optimize overall system performance
- Continuous improvement: Stay current on leading technical innovations and apply them to improve design and operations
Requirements
- Compliance: Must comply with ITAR requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in RF/microwave simulation and characterization
- Education: BS and/or master’s degree in electrical engineering with an EM background
- Simulation tools: Competent with HFSS or equivalent high-frequency microwave circuit simulation tools
- Characterization equipment: Experience using VNAs, PSGs, and ESAs
- Problem solving: Able to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
- Collaboration: Good communication skills and a team working mindset
