Job Description

In the RadCAM program, a Radiometric Software Engineer helps transform satellite radiometric data into reliable, high-quality imagery. Based onsite in Longmont, CO, you will collaborate with scientists and remote sensing experts to calibrate, validate, and deliver robust data products, while shaping software that underpins space operations and production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support RadCAM software within Vantor's space operations and production environments.
  • Design and document service architectures while monitoring the reliability of existing systems.
  • Provide software design guidance and technical support to RadCAM team members.
  • Develop and validate software that integrates with the ground system via Vantor's CI/CD pipeline.
  • Create automated unit, integration, and functional tests.
  • Collaborate with RadCAM subject matter experts to commission future sensors and expand the radiometric calibration operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the RadCAM team and broader Vantor software development groups, assisting the team in adopting software best practices.
  • Design and build new services and implement feature improvements to existing services.
  • Work with other software engineers on design and development efforts.
  • Provide architectural guidance for the future direction of a cloud-based distributed tech stack.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and support incident resolution.
  • Assist in meeting deadlines and clearly communicate issues and results.
  • Adhere to and improve software engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen status is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Robust software engineering capabilities.
  • Experience with CI/CD deployment workflows.
  • Experience developing applications that run on Linux.

Pay Transparency

The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $124,000.00 - $165,000.00 - $181,500.00 annually.
