Roadway Design Engineer

The Roadway Design Engineer role in San Antonio, TX (hybrid) at CONSOR Engineers focuses on roadway and multimodal design under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal projects.
• Apply applicable engineering standards and codes to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Perform design analyses, prepare cost estimates, and conduct quantity takeoffs for assigned components.
• Contribute to quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments or field questions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 7-10+ years of transportation engineering experience, including TxDOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in MicroStation ORD, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Proposal writing or marketing experience is a plus.
• Hybrid work environment with both office and field responsibilities; routine use of standard office equipment; occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, and bodies of water depending on project requirements.
• Physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, and hearing, with occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling; may require operating a company vehicle and lifting up to 35 lbs.
