Sales Engineer

Polytech Defense Spares is seeking a Sales Engineer to translate build-to-print drawings into accurate quotes and to support ERP implementation. This role drives revenue in the defense sector through technical expertise and clear communication with customers.

Based onsite in Mount Laurel, NJ, you will serve as the primary technical resource for customers, supporting pre-sales and post-sales activities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer technical data related to machined parts, distribution items, and mechanical assemblies, and prepare quotes for submission.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, delivering both pre-sales and post-sales support.
• Support ERP implementation by creating bills of materials, entering sources of supply, issuing quotes, processing sales orders, and tracking costs.
• Carry out contract reviews and help resolve issues such as Technical Data Packages, engineering exceptions, and PAR submissions.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer and supplier organizations.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and market conditions.
• Coordinate with the internal manufacturing team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services.
• Source suppliers and solicit competitive bids (RFQs) for materials and services.
• Issue, track, and manage purchase orders in line with procurement policies.

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of mechanical manufacturing.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, break down components and operations for estimation, and price the finished item.
• Ability to interact with customers and provide sales support.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and a functioning ERP system.
• Ability to document and record all work in an organized fashion.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
