Job Description

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Antenna Engineer to drive the design, testing, validation, and production support of antenna systems for next-generation wireless consumer devices. In this role, you will serve as the principal antenna subject matter expert, collaborating across RF, electrical engineering, and product teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure optimal performance in compact consumer electronics.

This contract-to-hire opportunity is an onsite role in San Francisco, offering a competitive hourly rate and a broad scope of responsibilities that span from concept through launch and ongoing production support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and optimization of antenna systems for small form factor consumer electronics and wearable products.
  • Collaborate with RF and EE teams to align antenna performance with system-level requirements.
  • Support products from initial concept through prototype validation, launch, and ramp to production.
  • Troubleshoot antenna and RF issues encountered during development or manufacturing.
  • Assist with EMI/RF desense mitigation and wireless coexistence challenges.
  • Define antenna requirements, specifications, test plans, and validation approaches.
  • Execute simulations, prototyping, lab measurements, and data analysis to drive decisions.
  • Review compliance and validation documentation as part of the development process.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams and external JDM/CM partners.
  • Communicate findings, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to engineers and leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronics is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in antenna design with hands-on experience in small form-factor products.
  • Understanding of industrial design constraints, including size, battery placement, PCB/layout considerations, materials, and manufacturing variability.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and antenna performance metrics (RF subsystem behavior, wireless coexistence, EMI/RF desense, sensitivity, EVM, S-parameters, emissions, and output power).

Contract to Hire position based in San Francisco, CA. Onsite work required.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly pay range: USD 84.00 – 120.00 per hour. Eligibility for certain benefits may depend on job classification and length of employment; benefits may require selections and are subject to change.
