Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description

This onsite opportunity in Boston offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 145,000 per year, a comprehensive benefits package, and a path to lead electrical architecture across multidisciplinary projects. You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients and stakeholders, and drive designs from concept through delivery. Expect to be on-site in the Boston studio 2-3 days per week with occasional travel to support testing, delivery, or sales activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering efforts on projects, owning the architecture, guiding the team from concept to delivery, and ensuring design quality and consistency across workstreams
- Define system design and architecture in collaboration with clients and engineering teams to refine architectures, design electrical subsystems, and perform part selection
- Prototype electronics by integrating evaluation boards with custom circuits, sensors, motors, and other peripheral hardware
- Design mixed-signal circuits, including analog and digital systems, for embedded applications, medical devices, and robotics platforms
- Design PCBs and manage PCBA production, including schematic capture and layout management
- Develop and operate test systems, designing and prototyping test fixtures for embedded systems, robotics platforms, and component evaluation
- Document designs for first generation devices, including design requirements, hardware descriptions, V&V documentation, and schematic/layout records
- Conduct EMC and safety testing per project requirements, identify risks, test and revise designs to meet safety and compliance needs
- Present designs and status to internal teams and external clients, preparing presentations and reports to drive brainstorming and decision making
- Participate in sales and business development, lead technical scoping and estimation for proposals, and engage with prospective clients to define project approaches
- Manage and mentor associate-level electrical engineers, providing technical direction, reviewing work, supporting professional development, and ensuring deliverable quality
- Occasional travel to support testing, delivery, or sales activities
- Work onsite in the Boston studio 2-3 days per week
Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent from an accredited program; an advanced degree or specialized experience is a plus
- 8–12 years of electrical engineering experience
- Analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit development and troubleshooting
- Board-level circuit design and implementation focused on embedded systems
- Practical knowledge of design for electromagnetic compatibility
- Strong lab, instrumentation, and analysis skills
- Programmable logic design
- PCB layout experience
- Wireless systems and module integration (RFID, Bluetooth, WiFi, LoRa, etc.)
- Embedded systems programming
- Design and test for radiated and conducted emissions and immunity in line with FCC regulations
