Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer role focuses on the aluminum extrusion unit, with on-site responsibilities in Lafayette, Indiana. The position leads electrical projects, mentors engineering staff, and ensures safety, compliance, and the delivery of integrated electrical solutions across the operation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and monitor electrical systems and equipment to meet required specifications and standards
- Plan and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, including schedules and budgets
- Supervise junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and consultants to deliver integrated engineering solutions, coordinating with hourly union staff
- Identify and resolve performance and production issues, and continually improve engineering processes
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure installations and operations meet standards and customer requirements
- Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and apply relevant new technologies where appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years of electrical engineering and maintenance experience in a heavy equipment plant environment
- At least three years of experience with electrical CAD software for designing and simulating electrical systems
- Access to controlled technology as defined by the Export Administration Regulations and ITAR. Qualified candidates must be US citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 USC 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant governmental agency. Business needs may require candidates who are immediately eligible
