This on‑site role is based in Billings, Montana, offering the chance to influence large oil, gas and chemical projects from a local hub with global impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of electrical engineers and designers on oil, gas and chemical projects, guiding technical delivery and quality outcomes.
• Plan, organize and direct electrical engineering work to ensure on‑time completion, safety in design and high standards from concept to project closeout.
• Collaborate with project management, clients and other disciplines; may lead one or more projects and provide mentorship to other lead engineers within the program.
• Maintain productive relationships with project management and clients to ensure satisfaction with quality and progress.
• Communicate effectively in written, email and verbal forms with team members and management; demonstrate leadership, problem solving and the ability to foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, client and regulatory specifications on schedule and within budget.
• Initiate, manage and, when required, supervise electrical engineering project requirements.
• Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and adhere to required checking procedures.
• Clarify project scope and ensure changes follow established change management processes.
• Provide guidance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities, including drafting requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations and issuing purchase orders.
• Act as the electrical engineering lead on specific projects when required.
• Outline project requirements, promote appropriate workshare, assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Ensure services meet Worley, client and regulatory requirements on time and within budget, resolving discrepancies proactively.
• Stay current with the latest developments and innovations in electrical engineering.
• Support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team when needed.
• Communicate effectively with the electrical team, interfacing disciplines and project stakeholders, including the customer.
• Identify issues and develop practical solutions, seeking input as needed.

Requirements

• Strong technical and practical engineering skills with a track record of delivering quality, accurate work on time for Worley and its clients.
• Solid grounding in the fundamentals of electrical engineering and an understanding of the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
• In-depth knowledge of applicable local and international standards and regulatory specifications.
• Proficient use of MS Office and electrical engineering software such as ETAP and SPL.
• Experience designing MV and LV electrical distribution systems, selecting equipment, protective relays and configuring power management systems; strong interface management.
• Ability to perform and review power system studies and protective device settings.
• Extensive practical experience in electrical engineering within oil and gas, including work on multi‑disciplinary projects and teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management or supervisory disciplines, or equivalent.
• Eight or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Education: BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Location: on site in Billings, MT.
