Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer and Senior Project Manager will lead residential and commercial electrical projects from concept through construction in Dallas, onsite. This role coordinates across disciplines and mentors technical teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost effective electrical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering projects of varying size and complexity for residential and commercial developments.
  • Develop concept designs, perform load calculations, create schematics, select equipment, and compile system concept reports.
  • Design electrical systems including distribution, transfer switching, UPS, grounding and bonding, lighting and control systems, life safety and emergency systems, and fire alarm solutions.
  • Plan ICAT services such as communication systems, audiovisual systems, security access and monitoring systems, equipment, and structured cabling.
  • Prepare construction specifications and evaluate client proposals to identify cost effective solutions.
  • Ensure professional quality across all aspects of the work and mentor project teams to uphold technical accuracy.
  • Direct a team to achieve safe, timely, and cost efficient project completion while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Manage project activities through the lifecycle, including resource allocation and documentation required for success.
  • Collaborate with clients to deliver final projects and prepare or review specification and concept reports.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to technical staff and assign duties as needed.
  • Conduct site visits during construction when required and oversee quality and cost control throughout design and construction phases.
  • Maintain project schedules and cost summaries to monitor progress, budget status, and manpower utilization.
  • Escalate when additional services or fees are necessary and assist with shop drawing reviews as required.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet project milestones.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical engineering or another relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Professional qualifications may be considered with relevant experience; Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
  • LEED accreditation is an asset; completion of a degree or diploma in project management is also considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience; consulting engineering background is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers; coordination experience for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Construction experience is advantageous; proven success in project delivery and application of project management methods.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines; excellent negotiation, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, leadership, and organizational abilities; capable of effective communication with staff at all levels and across departments.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
