Job Description
The role centers on leading facility assessments for the NYS Office of General Services, collaborating with the Albany project team to evaluate building conditions, develop improvement plans, and integrate findings into cost estimation and project scheduling. This onsite position is based in Buffalo, NY.
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive facility assessments within the NYS OGS portfolio, following established protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define assessment criteria and objectives aligned with LiRo and NYS OGS missions.
- Apply industry-leading methodologies and tools to collect, analyze, and present assessment data clearly and effectively.
- Develop detailed Improvement Plans that prioritize upgrades and renovations based on assessment results and program priorities.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate assessment findings into conceptual design for cost estimation and scheduling.
- Provide technical expertise to support program goals and ensure quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with substantial facility assessment experience.
- 10–15 years of industry experience.
- Proven track record managing assessments for public agencies or governmental organizations.
- Familiarity with NYS OGS procedures is a strong plus.
- Solid knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies, with experience evaluating a diverse range of facility types.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in assessment methodologies and reporting.
- Knowledge of the Uniformat Group II classifications system is advantageous.
