Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Build security software for secure voice products while working with a cross-functional team on research-oriented engineering for national security. This fully on-site role in Scottsdale, AZ offers a flexible 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off, if desired) and competitive benefits designed to support your health, family, and long-term planning. Pay for this position is USD 142,696 to 158,303 per year.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for Secure Voice Products at General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc, you will help develop security software for cutting-edge secure voice products. You will contribute across the software lifecycle, supporting software design, development, and testing as part of a team that delivers practical solutions.

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop security software for secure voice products
• Perform software design, development, and test activities

Skills and experience we need

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
• Selected applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work performed within company facilities

Technical background that will help

• C/C++, Rust, and Linux
• Git shared repository team development
• SELinux experience (policies)
• CI pipelines/CI testing and static analysis
• Python and Perl scripting experience
• Experience applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges
• Ability to follow the software development process, including Agile development
• Embedded and low-level development experience (devices, boot)
