Job Description

Liberty Mutual is building automation capabilities across its USRM Servicing Technology portfolio, and this role sits in an Agile delivery environment focused on practical impact. You’ll help design, develop, and support automated solutions using UiPath, AWS, and AI, with a hybrid schedule based in Portsmouth, NH (two days in the office each week). The position is open to U.S.-based employees, and candidates with less experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support UiPath RPA bots that integrate with multiple systems to enable scalable back-office automation for Distribution and Service teams
  • Create AI-driven solutions using UiPath IXP or AWS Bedrock to improve business processes and address complex challenges
  • Write defect-free source code aligned to business requirements and Liberty standards
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and software issues, take corrective action, and coordinate with IT staff or vendors during complex testing, support, and troubleshooting
  • Work with other teams, your Product Owner, and Stakeholders to define user stories at a deep technical level
  • Plan work effectively, proactively escalate risks that may affect scope, schedule, or budget
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including refinement, planning, demos, and retrospectives
  • Mentor new and junior developers
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support incident management remediation efforts and provide consultative recommendations for viable resolutions
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and cost, and report changes

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Background in business operations and strategies, with emphasis on business IT
  • Experience translating client requirements into technical designs
  • Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset
  • Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain decision-making to non-engineers
  • Strong grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts, and layered solutions/designs
  • Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools across horizontal and vertical packages
  • Ability to understand how modifications impact different parts of a system and explain the reasoning to non-engineers
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

Compensation: USD 106,000 - 197,000 per year.
