Senior Facility Engineer

This on-site Senior Facility Engineer role in Chaska, MN supports Lifecore Biomedical's manufacturing operations by providing technical leadership of facility infrastructure, utility systems, and project delivery, with a salary range of USD 110,000 - 128,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility engineering initiatives from concept through completion, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and ongoing support for facility infrastructure systems, including HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, filtration systems, motors, and security systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize and manage facility projects, preventive maintenance activities, and work orders.
• Lead and assist with technical investigations related to facility equipment performance and system behavior.
• Assess facility systems and propose improvements to boost reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the primary engineering resource for facility design changes, including mechanical, electrical, and layout modifications.
• Offer technical guidance and oversight to contractors, vendors, architects, and engineering firms engaged in capital projects.
• Assist with planning and management of the Facility Engineering and Maintenance budgets.
• Provide direction and support to maintenance personnel to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 5–8 years of facility engineering experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects from concept through execution.
• Extensive experience with cleanroom environments (ISO Class 5–8) and associated compliance requirements.
• Strong knowledge of pure water systems, including distillation, WFI, reverse osmosis, and UV disinfection.
• Working knowledge of GMPs and regulatory requirements impacting pharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of standard maintenance practices and procedures.
• Experience authoring technical documentation (SOPs, PM procedures, protocols, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, filters, motors, steam systems, and air handling systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, including low and high voltage troubleshooting, VFDs, and building automation systems.
• Familiarity with validation methodologies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for P&IDs, layouts, and related drawings.
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections and customer audits.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
