Senior Hardware Engineer
Job Description
Engineering Resource Group is hiring a Senior Hardware Engineer in Flanders, NJ for an onsite role. This position is centered on hands-on electrical system development for high precision equipment, with a strong emphasis on power design, noise management, motor and actuator control, and mixed-signal electronics while meeting safety and EMI/EMC expectations.
In this role, you will build and validate electrical subsystems from architecture through integration, working across analog, digital, and power electronics and ensuring designs support reliability, stability, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the hardware engineer for hands-on development of electrical systems for high precision equipment.
- Design systems that include power and noise management, motor and actuator control, and electrical component integration.
- Design, develop, and validate electrical subsystems.
- Create architecture for analog, digital, and power electronics.
- Design motor control, actuator control, signal conditioning, and mixed-signal circuitry.
- Optimize reliability, noise reduction, long-term stability, and manufacturability.
- Own PCB design and development processes.
- Ensure signal integrity, power distribution, EMI/EMC, thermal, and global safety standards are met.
- Integrate electronic components such as sensors, motors, and power supplies.
Required Qualifications
- BS Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Hardware design experience.
- Experience with analog, digital, and power electronics.
- Experience with grounding, noise mitigation, and signal integrity.
- Experience integrating motors, sensors, power systems, and mixed-signal components.
- Experience with PCB design and simulation tools, including Altium, OrCAD, SPICE, MATLAB (and similar).
- Working knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGAs.
- Hands-on experience with servo and stepper motors.
