Senior R&D Engineer (Medical Devices)

MicroVention is hiring a Senior R&D Engineer to support the development of medical device products. This hybrid role in Aliso Viejo, CA focuses on product and process design, specifications and raw material requirements, and the generation of intellectual property while coordinating technical execution across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development of medical device products by writing or validating specifications and designing or specifying new products, fixtures, test processes, and equipment.
• Specify raw materials to help ensure concepts and prototypes meet defined requirements.
• Develop new product concepts and products.
• Contribute to engineering design and process development.
• Generate intellectual property by preparing invention disclosures.
• Supervise assemblers, technicians, and specialists.
• Work largely independently while meeting project goals with moderate supervision.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Material Science Engineering.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience, or alternatively a master’s degree plus three (3) years of experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and CAD; SolidWorks proficiency is required.
