Job Description

Join Gallup in Omaha, NE (onsite) as a Senior Security Engineer focused on Platform Security. In this role, you will help protect Gallup’s cloud and infrastructure by strengthening security by design, improving detection and response capabilities, and leading platform incident response when it matters most. You will work closely with engineering teams to build more resilient platforms and continuously raise the security baseline across environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to advise on secure design for cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure, and endpoint environments
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve security controls across Gallup’s cloud and infrastructure environments
  • Run cloud security posture management (CSPM) reviews and perform infrastructure vulnerability assessments across network, system, and cloud environments
  • Administer, optimize, and tune Splunk SIEM and endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms to improve visibility, detection, and response
  • Support a shift-left approach by embedding security controls, metrics, and best practices early in infrastructure initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate platform security incident response, providing calm, decisive technical leadership during high-impact events
  • Develop scripts and automation to improve security operations, monitoring, and operational efficiency
  • Continuously assess emerging threats and evolving attack techniques, including those enabled by AI, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen Gallup’s security posture

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, computer science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of full-time professional experience securing enterprise cloud and infrastructure environments
  • Deep experience securing one or more cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, or Oracle Cloud
  • Hands-on experience administering and tuning Splunk SIEM and EDR platforms
  • Experience performing CSPM reviews and infrastructure vulnerability assessments
  • Experience leading or playing a significant role in security incident response
  • Strong scripting skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or a comparable language
  • OSCP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or similar security certifications (preferred)
  • Experience using AI tools to improve security operations or familiarity with emerging AI-enabled threats (preferred)
  • Ability to work onsite in Omaha at least 3 days per week

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: USD 115,000 - 150,000 per year.
