Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer

BizTek People, Inc. is seeking an onsite Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer in Reno, NV. This contract opportunity provides an hourly rate of USD 83 to 85 and centers on civil and structural design for substation and transmission facilities. Key tasks include route analysis, line design calculations, materials specification, bid evaluation, and completing construction packages. Occasional field travel is required, accounting for less than 10% of time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive civil and structural design services for substation and transmission facilities to help ensure on-schedule construction within allocated resources.
• Provide civil engineering input for sitework plans, including grading, off-site improvements, drainage, fencing and block walls, and landscaping.
• Perform calculations and produce designs for substation steel structures, foundations, and control enclosures.
• Apply civil engineering expertise to transmission line design and analysis, including route analysis, line design calculations (structure loading, foundation design, conductor sag), material specifications, bid document evaluation, submittal review, and completion of the construction package.
• Occasional driving to field locations is required, with travel under 10% of time.

Requirements

• Civil/structural design experience: 5 years (Required)
• Substation and/or transmission project experience: 5 years (Required)
• Willingness to drive to field locations on occasion; travel less than 10%
