Senior Vision Software Engineer

Based in Raleigh, NC on site, Targan Inc invites a Senior Vision Software Engineer to join its Vision Software Development team as a core contributor spanning both research and commercial activities. The role centers on coordinating with project stakeholders and the Director of Vision to oversee production deployments, extend tooling built on the existing codebase, drive R&D initiatives, and mentor junior developers.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy software that leverages machine learning to address business challenges.
• Merge commercially sourced data with current tooling to create innovative solutions aligned with project goals.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop in house tools.
• Accelerate new product development by utilizing commercial data to meet market needs and strategic objectives.
• Ensure data and analytical outputs are accurate and reliable through thorough testing and validation.
• Stay current with advances in machine learning, vision software, and related fields to continually refine methodologies.
• Mentor junior software developers and share guidance on best practices and advanced analytics techniques.
• Communicate complex data insights and recommendations clearly to non technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in a commercial or industrial setting, with a focus on biotechnology.
• Experience working with biological data.
• Proficiency in computer vision.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data privacy considerations for biological and commercial data.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Solid understanding of machine learning tools and how to implement them within a software product.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking and creative reasoning abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High integrity, ethics, and professional judgment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in software development or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and C# for software development.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL Server.
• Experience with cloud platforms, notably Azure, for container deployment, orchestration, and software versioning.
