Software Engineer
Job Description
Based in Aurora, Colorado, Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to join the team on site. The role centers on developing, testing, and reverse-engineering software that enables hardware functionality across a range of devices, teaming up with cybersecurity and platform specialists to support client missions.
Location: Aurora, CO (onsite)
Salary: USD 86,900 - 198,000 per year
Minimum experience: 5 years
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain essential software components, crafting and refining code that enables communication between disparate software modules.
- Write, test, and refine code to advance the team’s objectives.
- Build and reverse-engineer software that supports hardware functionality across diverse devices.
- Configure solutions tailored to the target platform.
- Collaborate with other engineering leads to diagnose and fix operational issues.
- Work with cybersecurity specialists to ensure the software you create is secure.
- Develop technology that addresses clients' mission-critical challenges.
- Support the development of systems, sites, and client tools.
Requirements
- Experience building containerized applications, including design, authentication, and deployment.
- Experience creating prompts, tools, and agents for large language models.
- Experience developing software using cloud technologies.
- Experience gathering client requirements and solving workflow problems through automation optimization.
- Experience with version control systems (Git preferred).
- Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
- HS diploma or GED with 10+ years of software engineering experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of software engineering experience.

Work Model
