Software Engineer

Thomas & Reed, LLC is hiring a Software Engineer to plan, design, build, and validate software systems and applications with an emphasis on user experience (UX) innovation. In this onsite role in Columbus, OH, you will support enhancements to established products and contribute to new solutions, particularly across cloud-based platforms and internet-connected tools.

The position focuses on delivering intuitive, high-performance UX applications that help drive strategic product differentiation and support customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, and validate software systems and applications with a focus on UX innovation.
• Deliver enhancements to existing products and develop new solutions, particularly for cloud platforms and internet-connected tools.
• Contribute to UX applications intended to be intuitive and high-performing to support product differentiation and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++, applied across diverse development environments.
• Experience with front-end and back-end development, including a solid understanding of full-stack architecture and integration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, with practical experience in iterative development and team collaboration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration.
• Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL, for data modeling and access.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary groups.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Hands-on GUI development experience using modern tools and frameworks, with an emphasis on usability and performance.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices to support secure design and implementation.
