Job Description

As a TS/SCI cleared Software Engineer supporting a long-term DIA-NDOC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP) contract, you will help an application team maintain steady delivery of software enhancements and deployments. This Bethesda onsite role offers the chance to work on meaningful engineering work while building Python microservices, improving indexing and querying with Elasticsearch, and using modern engineering practices including testing, observability, and collaborative development in an Agile environment.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain Python-based microservices aligned with established requirements and design specifications.
  • Create and maintain integrations with Elasticsearch to support real-time and batch indexing and querying.
  • Write and execute unit and integration tests to support software quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Support technical design discussions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to software development planning.
  • Use logging and observability tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and operational issues.

What you’ll bring

  • Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or Masters).
  • Experience: 4+ years of prior relevant experience, or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility, with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph (required to be considered).
  • Experience developing software applications using Python.
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting in a Linux environment.
  • Experience using Git and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional team.

Tech stack: Python, Elasticsearch, Linux, Git, containerization technologies.

Additional skills that could help: familiarity with DGX systems; Elasticsearch certifications (or other relevant technology stack certifications); experience supporting production or enterprise-scale software systems; familiarity with or experience developing applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) or Agentic AI.

Pay range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00 (yearly).
Location: Bethesda, MD (onsite).
