Job Description

Becklar invites a Software Engineer II to join its Ogden, Utah team on a hybrid schedule that includes one on-site day per week. Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, this role centers on delivering high quality code and innovative software solutions while fostering mentorship and adherence to established processes. A focus on customer service, strong collaboration, and meeting key performance metrics guides daily work in this environment.

Compensation

Salary: USD 100,000 - 105,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the quality of code across projects.
  • Write and understand code well enough to deliver a quality product with limited assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and other departments to align expectations.
  • Work well under pressure for extended periods while maintaining code quality.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, focus, and reliable follow through.
  • Continuously improve and learn, accepting constructive feedback from senior engineers and peers.
  • Adhere to established IT change, configuration, and problem management processes as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity with colleagues and clients.
  • Produce, test, and debug robust code while upholding high quality standards.
  • Develop highly scalable software solutions capable of supporting growth.
  • Focus on sharpening problem-solving skills, deepening system knowledge, and expanding tooling proficiency.
  • Follow Becklar development standards as defined in internal documentation.
  • Understand and implement emerging web and mobile development technologies.
  • Gather requirements for business reporting needs with clients and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize deliverables.
  • Perform validation and verification testing using test cases.
  • Maintain personal KPIs and contribute to team metrics.
  • Ensure about 85 percent of daily effort is spent on sprint development tasks.
  • Deliver sprint tasks within the timelines defined during planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of professional development experience.
  • Experience with C#, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, Angular, and SQL.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests using XUnit or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and familiarity with serverless technologies.
  • Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases such as SQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
  • Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and secure database solutions following best practices.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop strategic solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Acute attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment.
