Software Engineer II

Contract opportunity (3 months) with remote work based in Buffalo, NY. This Software Engineer II role at Acara Solutions focuses on driving end-to-end delivery, from analysis and design through development, testing, debugging, and implementation, while partnering closely with technology, operations, business, and vendor teams.

What you’ll do

• Lead and contribute to systems analysis and application design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation across enhancements and complex initiatives.
• Turn business and technical requirements into scalable solutions, with a working understanding of the applications you support and the business processes they serve.
• Coordinate development efforts, provide technical direction, and mentor or oversee less experienced team members.
• Create technical project plans, specifications, assessments, test plans, and system documentation aligned with development standards and procedures.
• Partner across technology, operations, business, and vendors to evaluate solutions, improve application performance, identify technology opportunities, and address risks or regulatory requirements.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis and application development
• Minimum 7 years coordinating between Applications and business units
• Minimum 7 years recommending and implementing systems solutions
• Minimum 7 years driving project milestones and delivery dates
• Minimum 7 years in .NET C#, REST API, and Java
• Minimum 7 years in Azure Functions, Durable Functions, App Services, Monitor, App Insights, and Infrastructure
• Minimum 7 years in SQL including MSSQL and AzureSQL

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to the target audience
• Good understanding of the Bank’s application framework
• Subject matter expertise in business and knowledge or experience using the supported application/system

• Ability to multitask across multiple components of complex projects
• Action-oriented and proactive approach
• Advanced knowledge and focus on the full system to support projects outside normal business-as-usual (BAU)
