Software Engineer III
Job Description
Sparksoft Corporation is hiring a Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, and deploy fraud-detection software applications in a SAFe Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies
- Participate in Agile delivery activities across the development lifecycle, including planning, estimation, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Follow coding standards and best practices by conducting code reviews and writing comprehensive unit tests
- Collaborate with product owners, Scrum Masters, DevSecOps engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes
- Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications and processes
- Improve software development processes and tools to increase efficiency and quality
- Lead secure, scalable, resilient enterprise application design and implementation; establish architecture and coding standards; guide technical decisions and mentor engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and constructive feedback
- Drive complex initiatives from requirements through production release by proactively managing technical risks and dependencies and partnering cross-functionally to meet performance, security, compliance, and business objectives
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience with strong focus on Java and Spring Boot
- Expert proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, microservices architecture, ActiveMQ message broker, and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Ability to define API contracts with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and maintain consistent API design standards
- Experience developing service-to-service communication patterns using synchronous REST and asynchronous messaging frameworks including ActiveMQ, Amazon MQ, and SQS
- Experience with GitHub and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Test automation experience using Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Bash scripting, Linux, AWS services including Amazon MQ, SQS, S3, EC2, EKS, RDS, and CloudWatch, plus infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- Experience with databases including PostgreSQL and Oracle, including data modeling
- Experience with monitoring tools including Apache JMeter, Grafana, Splunk, DataDog, and CloudWatch
- Knowledge of data analytics tools including AWS QuickSight and Elasticsearch
- Experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum, plus tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Excellent communication and ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, Agile environment
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years

Preferred Experience
- SAFe Agile Certification
- Experience in healthcare IT (CMS) and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA
- Experience and/or knowledge of CMS processes and standards
- Experience developing responsive, dynamic, interactive user interfaces using Angular and React
- Experience converting UI/UX wireframes and prototypes into functional applications
