Software Engineer Level 2

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 2 to support the VISTA (MT&E Team), building and improving complex software systems that can include processing-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and business management information systems. What you’ll do

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features; debug defects and correct errors.
• Integrate software into new or modified systems and operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards, including quality control on team products when serving in a team lead role.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation and recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.
• Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces and queries.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.
• Support team execution by overseeing one or more software development teams and ensuring work completion within the software development process constraints used on a project.

Required skills and experience

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of additional Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Go, Python, Terraform, and AWS tooling.
