Software Engineer (Modeling & Simulation)

Lockheed Martin RMS in Camden, NJ invites an early career Software Engineer to contribute to modeling and simulation software for DoD programs. The role emphasizes design, development, integration, and testing of target modeling solutions using C++, Java, and Python within an Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, integrating, and validating new capabilities across multiple DoD products and technologies.
• Leverage and contribute to models representing real world weapons, radar systems, and Command and Control assets.
• Independently locate and fix defects in systems and software components.
• Break down complex problems to craft effective solutions.
• Craft, modify, and integrate software for target modeling and simulation systems using Agile practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Improve algorithm performance and efficiency where applicable.
• Run experiments to verify that functionality and performance meet requirements.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and related processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent STEM field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven knowledge of C++, Python, and/or Java programming languages.
• Proficiency with Linux command line and environment.
• Experience in software design and testing processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based setting.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the SECRET level; US citizenship required.
