Software Engineer, Platform (Mid-Senior Level)
Job Description
Sprinter Health is building platform engineering foundations to help teams develop, deploy, and operate software with less friction. As a mid-senior Software Engineer focused on Platform, you will design and deliver internal tools, shared services, infrastructure, and automation that improve developer productivity across the organization.
This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA, centered on end-to-end ownership of foundational engineering projects, pragmatic architectural decisions, and improvements to CI/CD, observability, and operational tooling.
What you will do
- Design and build internal tools, shared services, and automation that improve developer productivity across engineering teams
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and infrastructure to help teams ship software quickly and reliably
- Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, developer environments, and foundational services that support a growing platform
- Improve observability, monitoring, and operational tooling to make systems easier to debug, maintain, and operate
- Develop reusable frameworks, infrastructure components, and self-service tooling that reduce manual work and accelerate development
- Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, refine development workflows, and drive adoption of platform capabilities
- Own foundational engineering projects end to end, balancing reliability, scalability, and developer experience
What you bring
- 5+ years building and scaling backend software, infrastructure, or platform systems in production
- Experience building internal developer tools, automation, shared services, or infrastructure used by multiple engineering teams
- Hands-on work with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment systems, and production environments
- Ability to design and implement reliable, maintainable software that improves how others build, test, deploy, or operate applications
- Track record leading technical projects end to end, from architecture and implementation through rollout, adoption, and ongoing maintenance
- Cross-team collaboration to understand developer pain points and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Strong technical judgment balancing developer productivity, operational reliability, and long-term maintainability
