Job Description

As an onsite Software Engineer (Python) with Truist Bank in Washington, DC, you will contribute to designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex software solutions. The role emphasizes delivering scalable, reliable applications, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive tech initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain sophisticated software components and services that address business and user needs.
  • Develop advanced features and enhancements following established coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices.
  • Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality, maintainability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to plan and execute technical initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex defects and production issues using root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate actively in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Adhere to secure coding practices, testing strategies, and documentation standards to ensure quality and compliance with organizational guidelines.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers to foster technical growth and adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize and contribute to existing frameworks, tools, and technologies to enhance application development across relevant technology domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Deep knowledge of information systems and the ability to identify, apply, and implement IT best practices.
