Job Description

This position is for a senior level software engineering professional focused on designing, building, integrating, and deploying AI-enabled cybersecurity capabilities to provide defensive solutions for Booz Allen Hamilton clients. The role is based onsite in McLean, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, integrate, and deploy new capabilities.
  • Implement Agentic AI software and integrate cybersecurity tools to deliver defensive cyber solutions for customers.
  • Execute greenfield software development efforts.
  • Integrate capabilities with the industry’s leading cybersecurity tools end to end according to the team roadmap.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to rapidly scaffold, implement, review, and test new software and features.
  • Work independently against ambiguous requirements and distill complex needs into actionable engineering tasks.
  • Design solutions, estimate complexity, and sequence work for implementation.
  • Operate within a high velocity engineering team that moves with evolving technology.
  • Define done as production-ready software ready for deployment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience with Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • 6+ years of experience with data storage solutions such as SQL, document databases, or graph databases.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud and containers such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of experience with system-to-system integration development such as APIs.
  • 3+ years of experience deploying, configuring, and operating applications and tools.
  • Experience with large language models, Agentic AI, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and MCP implementations.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab
  • Experience with application security and enterprise cybersecurity such as static and dynamic code vulnerabilities, vulnerability management, and penetration testing
  • Experience with rapid scaffolding and prototyping using AI coding assistants
  • Secret clearance

Clearance

Work Model

Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration on required in-person basis.

Hybrid: You may be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and the needs of the role. You may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.

Remote: If the position is remote, there may still be occasions to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Compensation

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is USD 86,800 to 198,000 per year (annualized). The displayed estimate represents the typical salary range for this role and is one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package.
