Job Description
This contract role supports an Agentic AI initiative focused on building and deploying greenfield AI agents for marketing campaign automation. The position emphasizes backend development in Python, API and microservices, and retrieval and orchestration using LLMs, with production readiness beginning August 24 and scaling to 20+ agents.
Role Focus
- Build, enhance, and support AI agents that orchestrate and automate marketing campaign activities within a strategic, highly visible program.
- Develop backend services and microservices that power agent workflows, including API development, integration, and distributed systems design.
- Implement and optimize retrieval and orchestration capabilities using LLMs, including RAG patterns, tool calling, routing and fallback strategies, and evaluation practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate daily with developers and architects through standups and close technical interaction to remove blockers and ship improvements.
- Support production readiness for the first production agents scheduled to go live on August 24, with a roadmap expected to scale to 20+ AI agents.
- Engineer reliable backend components for agent workflows, covering integration and distributed systems considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Python development experience (5+ years) with strong backend engineering fundamentals.
- Microservices experience (5+ years), including building and supporting microservices-based applications.
- API development and integration experience (5+ years), including designing and consuming APIs.
- MongoDB experience (5+ years), plus familiarity with vector databases for semantic retrieval.
- Agentic AI experience (2+ years preferred), including LLM and agent orchestration concepts and multi-agent workflow design.
