Sr Principal Integration and Test Electrical Engineer (Level 4)
Job Description
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 4) to join the Integration and Test team for Launch Systems at its Chandler, AZ facility. This is a 100% on-site role focused on leading and performing hands-on, systems-level electrical integration and testing, along with procedure development, discrepancy disposition, and readiness of test equipment and environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, direct, and perform hands-on electrical testing at the systems level.
- Develop and maintain procedures for the assembly and testing of launch vehicle systems.
- Incorporate hardware and/or software design changes into integration and test activities.
- Document and disposition hardware discrepancies, and pursue root cause with corresponding corrective actions.
- Coordinate and schedule day-to-day integration and test work across engineering disciplines by communicating with lead engineers; lead and participate in daily status meetings.
- Lead, train, and task cross-functional engineers and team members.
- Transfer knowledge to less experienced Integration and Test engineers.
- Apply producibility and testability concepts during early design phases.
- Oversee I&T bay and cleanroom activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, Launch Systems procedures and processes, and command media.
- Ensure special test equipment is maintained, calibrated, and available for use.
Requirements
- Minimum Education / Experience: 8 years with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline); or 6 years with Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
- Experience with cleanroom operations (e.g., ISO-6, ISO-7).
- Hands-on experience in electrical testing and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of space environment test requirements such as thermal vacuum, cycle testing, vibe and shock testing, and related practices.
- Experience working around operational hazards including propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, high voltage systems, and laser systems.
- Experience with aerospace standards and guidelines.
- Experience documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies, and pursuing root cause and corrective actions.
- Experience with MES or another digital work instruction platform.
- Experience leading and training junior engineers and/or team members.
- Ability to travel: 10-20%.

- Experience as an EE lead on launch vehicle programs (or similar).
- Extensive understanding of space environment testing requirements including thermal vacuum, cycle testing, vibe, and shock testing.
- Extensive experience with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems.
- Extensive experience with aerospace standards and guidelines.
- Experience performing formal requirements decomposition and/or verification.
- Experience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
- Extensive experience with MES or another digital work instruction platform.

Work Schedule
9/80 schedule: 9 hours per day Monday through Thursday, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off.
