Job Description

Join Cox Automotive at the Manheim site in Atlanta as a Senior Software Engineer focused on mobile development. This hybrid role combines hands on full stack mobile engineering with cross functional collaboration, mentoring, and the opportunity to leverage AI and spec driven development to deliver secure, scalable software. You will work alongside product, QA, and architecture partners to shape solutions and help grow the team’s capabilities.

Compensation

Base salary ranges from USD 101,500 to 169,100 per year. The total compensation may include additional programs based on location and candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software across the full technology stack
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
  • Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and secure
  • Apply modern engineering standards and best practices
  • Break down specs and features into actionable, estimable tasks
  • Deliver incremental value using Agile methodologies
  • Own end to end delivery of features or services
  • Align development with architectural standards and system design
  • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end to end tests
  • Maintain code quality, performance, and adherence to specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and deviations early
  • Leverage AI assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality
  • Use AI for code generation, test creation, debugging, and documentation
  • Validate and refine AI generated outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability
  • Contribute to team practices around AI usage and prompt engineering
  • Drive spec driven development with features defined through clear specifications
  • Create and refine technical specs such as APIs, contracts, workflows, and data models
  • Use specifications to align engineering, product, and QA efforts
  • Support automation, testing, and AI assisted development workflows through specs
  • Ensure implementations trace back to specifications and meet acceptance criteria
  • Partner with Product, QA, and Architecture to deliver solutions
  • Participate in design discussions and technical decision making
  • Communicate progress, trade offs, and blockers clearly
  • Contribute to coding standards and engineering best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance
  • Continuously learn and adopt new technologies including AI driven techniques
  • Experience with spec driven or contract first development environments
  • Define clear technical specifications such as API contracts and data schemas
  • Use AI assisted development tools effectively and responsibly
  • Validate and safely adopt AI generated outputs

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship (no OPT, CPT, STEM OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future)
  • Education and experience options include: a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 4+ years of experience; OR a master's degree with 2+ years; OR a PhD with up to 1 year of experience; OR 18+ years of directly relevant experience
  • Mobile development experience using React Native
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or .NET
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and distributed systems
  • Solid understanding of system design, API design, and data models
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices
  • Ability for rotational on call duties outside standard business hours may be required
  • In office 2 days a week is required
