Substation Engineer
Job Description
ISG is seeking a Substation Engineer in North Olmsted, OH (onsite) with a salary range of USD 80,000 - 120,000 per year to lead design and procurement for substation projects, potentially serving as a technical specialist.
Responsibilities
- Act as Project Engineer across a spectrum of projects, from routine single-discipline work to complex multi-discipline initiatives.
- Coordinate work with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design outcomes.
- Interface with clients and vendors to align expectations and deliverables.
- Prepare high voltage substation drawings including One Line Diagrams, Three-Line Diagrams, AC and DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and Protection & Control diagrams.
- Oversee completion of project documents internally and with external clients and design professionals.
- Monitor progress and alert the Project Manager to needed changes in scope or services.
- Perform field measurements independently as required.
- Collaborate with code officials and other design professionals when interpreting or seeking exceptions to codes and client standards.
- Support the development and adoption of company design and production standards.
- Take ownership of engineering within the discipline on routine projects.
- Provide construction support or management for routine and simple projects, and may direct it on select assignments.
- Direct construction observation of personnel on simple projects when applicable.
- Serve as a design resource for drafting and design staff.
- Lead and coordinate drafters and designers to produce the required substation drawings.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of three years of consulting or substation engineering/design experience is required.
- EIT certification is preferred.
- Candidate may be pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
