Job Description

Delta Dental offers a hybrid, Rancho Cordova, CA based Technical Product Owner role that centers on internal platform products and engineering capabilities. In this position you translate business needs, customer priorities, and technical requirements into actionable work for delivery teams, with a focus on platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, and developer enablement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery of defined product features and technology outcomes from planning through implementation for platform services, APIs, cloud platforms, developer enablement solutions, and shared engineering capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional partners to manage day-to-day requirements, backlogs, projects, and special features.
  • Work with Application Development, Platform Engineering, Security, Technology, Finance, Legal, and business teams to define and deliver solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of application integration, platform capabilities, and technical development to shape requirements, priorities, and delivery decisions.
  • Translate customer needs, business goals, and analytics into clear product requirements and executable roadmaps.
  • Lead feature and dependency prioritization, PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement at the team level.
  • Set iteration goals and verify that outcomes meet functional, non-functional, and technical expectations.
  • Coordinate daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, retrospectives, and system demos with delivery teams.
  • Create and refine user stories and tasks that align with user needs, technical integrity, and definition of ready.
  • Ensure product artifacts are complete and stories/features meet the definition of done criteria.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and delivery blockers and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Use product and delivery metrics to measure success, inform decisions, and drive ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of product management experience supporting software engineering, platform engineering, cloud platforms, APIs, developer platforms, infrastructure, or enterprise technology products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decisions.
  • Experience with agile methods and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and techniques, focusing on efficient resource allocation.
  • Strong business sense and a customer-centric mindset with awareness of market trends and user needs.
  • Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Base pay information

The national base pay range is a good-faith estimate of potential earnings for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience, education, certifications, and the ability to meet minimum qualifications. Pay may also be influenced by location and internal equity. The documented range is $81,265.00 to $176,073.00 annually for this role.
