Technical Support Engineer - VFD/VSD Specialist (Shop-Based)
Job Description
Triol Trading LLC is seeking a Technical Support Engineer specializing in VFD/VSD and power electronics for a shop-based role in Midland, TX. This position centers on commissioning, maintenance, and repair, delivering hands-on regional support from a centralized shop environment. The role offers a annual salary in the USD 120,000 to 130,000 range and requires at least three years of relevant experience, with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure uninterrupted product service in the assigned region, handling equipment commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repairs, with travel within the base region as needed.
- Commission new equipment at customer facilities.
- Support pilot operations and tests, ensuring timelines and goals for all company products are met.
- Conduct pre-project inspections of customer sites in preparation for initial deployments of new products in General Industry markets.
- Perform on-site repairs, maintain spare-parts planning, and keep records to ensure continuous service in the region.
- Receive equipment from the manufacturer, coordinate delivery to customer facilities, and verify the accuracy of order paperwork.
- Consult with customer representatives on service, maintenance, and operation; handle paid service requests; conduct customer satisfaction surveys on installed and operated equipment.
- Gather and analyze technical information on customer problems to propose performance improvements for equipment and processes.
- Participate in fault investigations at customer or third-party sites and support corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment quality.
- Maintain daily activity logs in CRM Bitrix24.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance and operation of converter equipment, including VSDs and frequency converters; experience with Triol VSD/VFD is preferred.
- Proficiency with complex measuring instruments (oscilloscope, megohmmeter, network analyzer, etc.).
- Skills in repairing and restoring drives.
- Technical English at level C1 or above.
- Valid international passport and a B-category driver's license.
- Electrical safety certificate above 1000 V.
- Willingness to travel for business within the United States; potential trips to Europe and Canada.
